Stephen Kenny has been sacked as Dunfermline manager with immediate effect as his side sit second from bottom of Scotland's Division One.
After arriving from Derry City last November, Kenny has only managed 16 wins from 51 games in charge of the Scottish side.
Veteran striker Jim McIntyre becomes temporary head coach.
Kenny will inevitably be linked with a return to the eircom League, and Cork City's current impasse with manager Damien Richardson will only serve to fuel rumours.
