Finn Harps finished as runners up in the First Division despite beating Kilkenny City 3-1 at Buckley Park.
This result means that the Donegal club finished one point behind Champions Cobh Ramblers. Harps will now face Dundalk in a play-off next Friday.
The visitors scored twice in the first five minutes through Shaun McGowan and Declan Boyle while Stephen Parkhouse added a third in the 26th minute to put them on the road to victory.
McGowan opened the scoring after just 40 seconds when he headed home a cross from, Seam Holmes.
Four minutes later Declan Boyle made it two when he riffled in from just inside the penalty area as he latched onto a free-kick from Holmes, Parkhouse fired in his 10th goal of the season after Tony Shields’ initial shot on 26 minutes.
Ted O'Connor deservedly pulled one back for a gallant Kilkenny side in the 69th minute.
Both sides then had further chances to score but it finished 3-1 for the visitors.
