Showing real pride in the club jersey Wexford Youths breezed past a hapless and very disappointing Kilkenny in the bottom of the table clash at Buckley Park.

The rot started in the 19th minute when Colin Bargary was caught in possession and was punished by Gavin Doyle, who finished clinically.

In the 25th minute a swift move from defence to attack saw Patsy Malone send Richie Fitzgerald clear and he scored a spectacular goal to put Mick Wallace's team well and truly into the driving seat.

The Cats never raised a gallop but Kilkenny went close when Ted O'Connor hammered off the upright and sub Barry Ryan brought a  brilliant stop from keeper Pa Doyle.
