The Republic of Ireland trained at Croke Park this morning ahead of their Euro 2008 Group D qualifier against Germany tomorrow night.

Manager Steve Staunton has decided to delay naming his team until an hour before kick-off.

John O'Shea had a light run-out today but could not complete the session due to his leg injury.

The Manchester United defender will have a fitness test in the morning and, if passed fit, will line-up alongside Richard Dunne at the heart of the defence.

Charlton captain Andy Reid trained despite an ankle complaint and looks likely to start, while Reading's Kevin Doyle sat out the session having sustained bruising on his foot in training.

However, the former Cork City striker is expected to take his place in the first XI.

The news is not so good on Wolves' Darren Potter, who has been ruled out of the squad because of injury.
