Cork City will go clear in second place of the eircom League of Ireland Premier Division if they beat UCD at Belfield Park tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.
Boss Damien Richardson has virtually a full strength side with Darragh Ryan (pelvic injury) the only confirmed absentee.
John O’Flynn suffered a dead leg in the 1-0 win over Shamrock Rovers on Friday but the City boss remains hopeful that the striker will be available for selection.
Richardson said: ‘It is imperative after a fine win on Friday night against Shamrock Rovers that we follow it up with a good performance and a good result.’
‘The expectation and desire must be there for us to achieve the three points which would lift us into second place.’
UCD will feel more or less safe from relegation following Friday’s draw with Bray and the outcome of other results.
The Students will be without Shane Fitzgerald and Paul Crowley, who is out for the remainder of the season.
Peter Hynes may start having come off the bench on Friday and very nearly heading in a winner on 90 minutes.
Boss Pete Mahon said: ‘We’re going to make a couple of changes to the side. We’ve had a lot of midweek fixtures with no chance to rest.
‘We’ll bring in a few players that haven’t had as much of a chance as others to play in the first team.
‘Training has been limited, the sessions have been more about recovering than anything else.
‘This [Cork City] is the form team in the league at the moment so this game will be a big test for us.’
