Celtic manager Gordon Strachan will give midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura every opportunity to prove his fitness for the Champions League Group D clash with AC Milan at Parkhead tonight.

The Japan international has missed the last three matches with a knee ligament injury but could yet feature in the crucial match.

Striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, who limped off with a hamstring injury during Saturday's 3-0 Clydesdale Bank Premier League win over Dundee United, is definitely out.

Maciej Zurawski has a slight knee injury but should be okay, while Jiri Jarosik has trained after recovering from a knock.

Strachan said: 'Nakamura trained this morning and we are going to do a bit of work and analysis on AC Milan and we will pick the team tomorrow.

'He's not 100% but he has a chance. Occasionally footballers are not 100% but can do enough to get picked.'

AC Milan goalkeeper Dida is expected to be fit to face Celtic at Parkhead.

Dida has missed the last two matches with a shoulder injury but coach Carlo Ancelotti is optimistic the Brazilian will be passed fit.

However, Ancelotti has been forced to rule out Kakha Kaladze with a thigh injury with Ronaldo, Serginho and Paolo Maldini already missing.

The match is live on RTÉ Two from 7pm and here on rte.ie.

Celtic squad: Boruc, Perrier Doumbe, Caldwell, McManus, Naylor, Scott Brown, Hartley, Donati, Sno, McGeady, McDonald, Zurawski, Killen, Mark Brown, Kennedy, Riordan, O'Dea, O'Brien, Nakamura, Jarosik.
