Helsingborgs manager Stuart Baxter will pay Drogheda United the utmost respect in this evening's UEFA Cup meeting at Dalymount Park, kick-off 7.45pm.
The Birmingham-born former South Africa national boss takes his Swedish side into the second qualifying round first leg tie as favourites against the eircom League of Ireland Premier Division leaders.
But Baxter is well aware of the fact that Derry City defeated Sweden's IFK Gothenburg 2-0 on aggregate in last season's UEFA Cup, and that Cork City have tasted success against Malmo and Djurgardens in European competition since 2004.
And the lesson of last year's unwise words by Gothenburg's Nicolas Alexandersson - who joked that he was looking forward to a holiday in Derry - has been learned by Henrik Larsson's club.
'To make those stupid comments, you are going to get it back,' said Baxter. 'They are going to try to break the dressing room door down to get at you.
'So I won't be making those sorts of comments. Nicolas was quite foolish to be making those comments. Also, because I'm the coach, I've got experience of Irish football and I respect Irish football.
'And of course I have watched with interest as Swedish teams have met their demise against Irish teams. We won't be making those stupid comments and we certainly won't be underestimating anybody.'
Ironically, Baxter tried to sign Drogheda manager Paul Doolin while he was in charge of AIK Stockholm in the early 1990s when Doolin was a key member of a highly successful Derry team.
'I saw Paul playing in a couple of games. I remember him playing for Derry on an absolutely atrocious pitch and he played very well,' Baxter said.
'There were a couple of things on Paul's side that he was concerned about and there were a couple of things on our side that we were concerned about. We were looking at a few different players and we were considering bringing in Paul. It didn't happen and that's football.'
Larsson is suffering from a cold but is expected to play, which would mean Baxter has a full squad to select from.
Drogheda's chief concern surrounds right-back Brian Shelley who is recovering from the hip muscle injury that forced him out of last Friday's crucial 2-0 league win over St Patrick's Athletic.
If Shelley fails to prove his fitness then current captain Stuart Byrne will switch from midfield to defence.
Former Middlesbrough centre-half Jason Gavin is not fit to start after recovering from an operation to correct a dislocated shoulder.
