Wexford Youths looked like taking their unbeaten run to three games in the eircom League of Ireland First Division when a second half equaliser saw them draw level with third-placed Limerick 37 at the Wexford Youths Complex.

However, then a power failure on 76 minutes forced the abandonment of the game.

Limerick 37 had produced a less than convincing opening 20 minutes dominated for the most part by the home side, who saw two efforts on goal denied by the visitors. After just six minutes Danny Furlong had a header cleared to safety, while David Miller saw an effort from distance just go over the top.

However, it was the visitors who suddenly began to play with more control after that lacklustre opening, taking the lead in the 27th minute.

Kevin Watters floated over a free-kick which was met by the head to Robbie Kelleher who steered his effort low beyond the reach of 'keeper Jason Russell into the bottom right hand corner of the net, taking a deflection off Anthony Rossiter along the way.

Having weathered the Limerick 37 pressure, Wexford Youths came close to equalising just on 45 minutes, but Liam O'Loughlin's low shot just went wide of the right hand post.

Neither side created any clear cut chances during the opening 15 minutes of the second half, but Wexford Youths came close to equalising in the 62nd minute when Joey Wadding saw his header from a Conor Sinnott free-kick well saved at the right-hand post by 'keeper Dave Ryan.

Wexford Youths got a deserved equaliser on 67 minutes when Danny Furlong powered home a header from an accurate David Miller cross.
