Bayern Munich have agreed an undisclosed fee with Werder Bremen for Germany striker Miroslav Klose.
The clubs reached the agreement yesterday, with the 29-year-old set to arrive in Munich on Thursday for a medical with a view to becoming a Bayern player on 1 July.
The Germany striker is poised to sign a four-year contract in Bavaria.
Of the undisclosed transfer fee, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: 'It is for both sides a fair solution.'
Klose was the top scorer at last year's World Cup in Germany and scored five times in 2002 including the goal in his country’s 1-1 draw against Ireland.
Klose is Bayern's eighth major close-season signing after they finished fourth in the table last term, missing out on a place in the Champions League.
The other new arrivals are Luca Toni, Franck Ribery, Ze Roberto, Jose Ernesto Sosa, Marcell Jansen, Jan Schlaudraff and Hamit Altintop.
