Bayern Munich striker Claudio Pizarro joined Chelsea on a free transfer on Friday.
The Peru international became the London club's second signing of the close season after Reading midfielder Steve Sidwell moved to Stamford Bridge on another free transfer last month.
Pizzaro told the club's official website: 'I think it's very important for me to win some titles and I have the chance to win them here.
'I had some interesting offers but the most important thing was that I talked to the coach (Jose Mourinho), I talked to the people here and they were very interested.'
Chelsea completed the FA Cup-League Cup double last season, finished second in the Premier League and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Pizarro scored eight Bundesliga goals for Bayern last season and was also on target four times in the Champions League.
The Peruvian spent almost six years with Bayern after joining from Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen in July 2001.
