Cork City have been informed that their efforts to have Gareth Farrelly and Colin Healy cleared to play for the club have been rejected by FIFA.

Both players are restricted by a FIFA rule governing the number of clubs a player can sign for within 12 months.

Healy and Farrelly won't be elligible to play for any club until July of this year, although Cork do have to the right to appeal the decision - an appeal they are expected to make.

Manger Damien Richardson told the club's official website of his 'extreme disappointment' at the outcome but said that his disappointment 'pales in comparison to the disappointment felt by the two lads.'
