Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho is ready to give youth a chance at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal's Carling Cup final side was full of youngsters but Chelsea had Lassana Diarra, Mikel John Obi and Salomon Kalou in the squad.
The Blues have often been criticised for their big-spending policy but Mourinho believes the time is coming when club's youth academy will begin to bear fruit.
And he insists striker Ben Sahar will become a first-team player next season, with others not far behind him.
'We have some young boys with quality and we believe maybe they can do it in the future.
'I can watch reserve level and see a right-back with good potential and see a central defender who is improving a lot. But they are not yet ready.
'As the first-team man, I am waiting for the final product to be delivered to me and after that I can make that product ready for Premiership level.
'I am satisfied with the progress being made because it was very, very bad. At this moment, we have very good coaches.
'But to build from the beginning and bring young players at the level Chelsea demands is not easy.
'Next season Ben Sahar is ready to come up and be part of the first team squad. Maybe next year one or two more will be ready.'
Mourinho once again emphasised he has not had time to build a team because the club wanted to become champions as soon as possible when he took charge in 2004.
'Nobody asked me to be champion in the first year. I spent a lot of time speaking about the project with Peter Kenyon (chief executive) and he was not demanding to be champion in the first year. I think we were champion one year in advance,' he added.
'Because we were a club without a big history, and it was very important for the club to come up and be big in the world, winning titles was very important.
'Milan, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Bayern Munich - these type of clubs - if they don't win anything for four, five, six years, nobody can delete their history.
'Nobody comes to steal their cups. So they can spend four, five, six years building a new team.
'Chelsea is a different situation. It is a club that wants to build and be big in the world in every area - marketing, business - and to be big in these areas Chelsea needs some power in what they do.
'So what we did to be champions for these two years was very important for the work top professional people do in this club in the other areas.'
