Shelbourne players will return to pre-season training next Tuesday with Stephen Geoghegan as their manager after the club's former striker was named as the new Tolka Park boss.

The 36-year-old picked up an incredible haul of medals as a player at Shelbourne - securing three league titles, three FAI Cups and a League Cup.

He was also top scorer in the league three times during his stay at the club.

Geoghegan will have his work cut out preparing Shelbourne for their new season after the Championship winning squad has been decimated by players leaving the club because of their well documented problems off the pitch.
