Inverness goalkeeper Mark Brown believed he was the victim of a wind-up when he was told Celtic were trying to sign him.
But he should complete a dream move to Celtic today after Caley Thistle accepted an offer from the Scottish champions.
The 25-year-old former Rangers player, whose Inverness contract was due to expire this summer, had been linked with Falkirk.
However Inverness have now agreed terms for his transfer with the Bank of Scotland Premier League leaders.
Inverness director of football Graeme Bennett said: ‘We anticipate no snags; a six-figure fee has been agreed.
‘Mark thought I was joking when I told him Celtic were after him. But he's thrilled at the chance. He's been superb for us but it is good business to accept a decent fee now rather than lose him for nothing in May.’
Inverness manager Charlie Christie will give long-term understudy Michael Fraser the chance to replace Mark Brown.
‘Michael did well at Celtic a couple of months ago and he's a very good ‘keeper, who has worked with Mark for four years,’ said Christie.
‘He'll play against Hibs on Sunday and he'll get his chance. But that leaves us a keeper short and we're looking around to bring one in.’
Celtic last night allowed David Marshall to join Norwich on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old, who has been capped twice by Scotland, had found his route to the Parkhead first team blocked by Poland international Artur Boruc and his prospects will not be improved by Brown's arrival.
