Athlone Town manager Michael O'Connor has made a double dip into the transfer market, as he continues to strengthen his side ahead of the 2007 season.
O'Connor has signed centre-midfield player Davy Byrne from neighbours Longford Town, and centre-forward Dave O'Dowd from Galway United.
Byrne (27), has formerly played with St. Patrick's Athletic, Derry City and Shelbourne, and won a League Championship medal with the Tolka Park outfit in 2001/02, and also has a Cup runners-up medal from his time with St. Pat's.
O'Dowd (24), spent the first five seasons of his career with Sligo Rovers, before moving to Galway United in 2004.
