Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will recall England defender Ashley Cole to face his former club at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Portuguese coach left the former Arsenal player out of the side which beat Levski Sofia 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

Claude Makelele will also return to the midfield after being rested against Sofia and captain John Terry will partner Ricardo Carvalho in the centre of defence after missing the European game through suspension.

Italian goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini remains doubtful with a leg muscle injury.

Arsenal defender Johan Djourou has been passed fit for Sunday's Premiership showdown.

League draw with Porto in midweek but has been given the all clear to partner Philippe Senderos at centre back.

Kolo Toure is suspended for the trip to Stamford Bridge while William Gallas' recovery from a thigh injury is expected to take at least one more week.

Thierry Henry (neck) and Tomas Rosicky (groin/hamstring) are unavailable while Abou Diaby (ankle) and Lauren (knee) remain longer-term absentees.
