Roddy Collins' claim for unfair dismissal against Shamrock Rovers will come before the Employment Appeals Tribunal on Thursday.
Collins lost his job as Rovers manager in November 2005, after taking the famous club to the brink of relegation for the first time in their history.
The former Bohemians manager had 12 months remaining on a contract which was signed during the reign of the previous Rovers board.
In 2004 Collins controversially walked out the now-defunct Dublin City, who were also on the brink of relegation at the time, to initially take the job at Rovers.
