There have been two withdrawals from the Republic of Ireland soccer squad ahead of Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier against San Marino.

Newcastle United's Stephen Carr is suffering from an ankle injury and Manchester City's Stephen Ireland has been diagnosed with a viral infection. Both have already been ruled out of the match.

Three other squad members have minor knocks – Everton's Lee Carsley, Wigan Athletic's Kevin Kilbane and Leeds United's Jonathan Douglas - but they are all expected to train in the coming two days.
