FAI appoints arbitrator

The Football Association of Ireland has granted a request from the eircom League to hold an arbitration hearing into the recent appeal board decision concerning the contentious eircom League Premier Division game between Bohemian and Shelbourne.

The appeals board decided that the game should be replayed after it was found that Bohs had played Jason McGuinness, who was due to serve a suspension, when the game was played at Dalymount Park in August.

The FAI has appointed Michael Collins SC as arbitrator and the hearing will take place on Friday.
