The eircom League Premier Division may be decided in the courts after Derry City broke their silence on the ongoing dispute over Bohemians' win against Shelbourne in August.
Bohemians were docked three points after fielding the ineligible Jason McGuinness in their 2-1 win, however following a major protest from Shelbourne the FAI Appeals Board controversially decided that the game should be replayed.
The decision meant, that in effect, Derry lost the game in hand that may have seen them move level with Shels' at the top.
In a statement Derry confirmed that will not take the decision lying down and that they intent to explore all avenues available to them in fighting the decision.
The statement read: 'The Board of Directors of Derry City Football Club note with great dismay the decision of the Appeal Board of the FAI of 31 October, 2006.
'We wish to reassure all supporters and fans of the club in Derry and elsewhere that we intend, as a Board, to protect, robustly and resolutely, the interests of our club.
'To that end we are working closely with our legal advisers and we intend to pursue all options available to us.'
