Reading striker Kevin Doyle insists the Royals' reputation as bruisers is unfounded - and they will prove as much against Arsenal on Sunday.
The Premiership newcomers have hogged the headlines this week, after incurring the wrath of Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho made a series of controversial comments after goalkeeper Petr Cech suffered a fractured skull in a collision with Stephen Hunt in the first minute of the champions' 1-0 win, which also saw Carlo Cudicini hospitalised and a player from each side sent off.
Arsenal's Jens Lehmann has already voiced his fears that another serious injury could soon befall a goalkeeper, but Doyle argues that the Madejski Stadium is no more likely a venue for that to happen than any other ground.
He said: 'It won't be like the Chelsea game. There will be more flowing football, and I look forward to it. Good or bad, it is going to be an experience for us - and we will try to play like we always do.
'We are not going to go out to try to rough them up, because we just don't do that. I hope there will be no more unfortunate incidents.'
The visit of Arsene Wenger's side completes a trio of home games against the top sides in England which began last month with a 1-1 draw with Manchester United when Doyle netted from the spot.
The Republic of Ireland striker makes no secret that he is a fan of the type of football Arsenal and United are capable of producing, which he regards as superior to the champions.
He said: 'If you want to watch a good football match then Arsenal and Manchester United play the most attractive football. Arsenal, if they get it right on the day, beat teams by five or six nil.
'You don't see Chelsea doing that - only Arsenal and Manchester United do.'
Royals boss Steve Coppell has confirmed Hunt's place in the team is now under threat but insisted that is solely because Bobby Convey, the previous first choice on the left flank, is now regaining fitness following a knee injury.
But whether or not he gets the nod, his team-mates have all made it clear to Hunt that they do not share Mourinho's strident views on the Cech incident.
Doyle said: 'We haven't had to say anything to him. He knows it was a freak accident. You see a lot worse incidents every week. It just happened that a serious injury came from it. If the ball was there I would have done the same thing.
'If you look at our disciplinary record it is probably the best around. It wasn't a dirty tackle; it was unfortunate.'
