Derry City beat Longford Town 2-0 at Flancare Park tonight in the eircom League Premier Division.
It was a stroll in the park for the title chasers - Mark Farren grabbed Derry’s opener after just 17 seconds.
Longford lost possession from the tip-off and Gary Beckett played a lovely ball for Farren who raced through the Longford defence before placing the ball into the bottom left-hand corner of Shay Kelly’s net.
Derry extended their lead in the 29th minute.
Ciaran Martyn’s goalbound attempt was blocked by keeper Kelly, however, the ball rebounded kindly for Farren, who scooped the ball into the empty net.
