Wantaway Cork City midfielder George O'Callaghan may have to wait until January to see if he will be offered a contract with Ipswich Town.
The 26-year-old has been training at Portman Road for the last three weeks but has also been linked with a number of other clubs including Hull City.
It was expected that Ipswich would this week sign the former Port Vale player on loan from Cork City.
However, manager Jim Magilton has revealed that O'Callaghan can't sign for anyone, either on loan or permanently, until the transfer window opens in January.
Magilton said: 'We are looking at him and he's looking at us and I know there are a few other clubs interested in him as well. He's done well in training and we will see how it goes but certainly no decision will be taken until January.'
O'Callaghan is still registered as a Cork City player but has not played for the club since a falling out with City boss Damien Richardson during the summer.
No move for O'Callaghan until January
