Athlone record facile Kilkenny victory

Athlone Town continued their good recent form with a 3-0 win over Kilkenny City in the eircom League First Division.

Town took the lead after just 96 seconds when Padraig Moran squeezed the ball in at the back post.

Noel McGee doubled the lead after 16 minutes. McGee got on the end of a great Colin Fortune ball before slotting the ball past Kilkenny 'keeper Stephen Cashen.

The win was sealed early in the second half. Moran was played in by McGee, and the veteran striker poked the ball past the advancing Cashen.
