Ashley Cole will go straight into Chelsea's squad for tomorrow's home game against Charlton Athletic.
Cole completed his move from Arsenal just before last week's transfer deadline but has been on England duty and has only just met his new team-mates.
Jose Mourinho is still without injured midfielder Arjen Robben and Joe Cole. Charlton were the only team to take points from Stamford Bridge last season.
The Addicks hope skipper Luke Young will be fit to face the Blues after the England right-back returned early from international duty because of concerns over a long-standing ankle problem.
