Ireland have moved up one place in the latest FIFA World Rankings with Steve Staunton's men now into 38th in the latest standings.
Staunton's side are now one place behind Australia and two ahead of Scotland.
Germany are the highest ranked team of Ireland's Euro 2008 qualifying opponents and just one place ahead of the Czech Republic in 10th.
Slovakia come next in 43rd spot, while Wales are 56th, Cyprus are 90th and San Marino are well down the rankings in 191st place.
