West Ham have completed the signing of England goalkeeper Robert Green from Norwich.

The deal, which could rise to £2million, represents a major coup for West Ham and ends their summer-long search for a new goalkeeper.

Green, 26, is recovering from the groin injury which ruled him out of England's World Cup squad - but he passed a medical yesterday and has agreed terms on a four-year deal with the Hammers.

When fully fit, Green will compete with Northern Ireland international Roy Carroll for top billing at Upton Park.

Green becomes West Ham's seventh signing since the end of last season and manager Alan Pardew is chasing an eighth, with a winger now his priority.
