Gareth Cronin is hotly tipped to be unveiled as the new Waterford United manager this evening.
Ex St Pat's midfielder Eddie Gormley is another name that has been strongly linked to the position.
The Waterford United board is due to meet this evening where it is understood they will announce a replacement for the recently-departed Mike Kerley.
Waterford have received 16 applications for the post, but have since whittled that down to six all of whom have been interviewed over the weekend.
U-21 boss Derek Browne has been in charge of the United first team since Kerley's departure on July 25.
