Limerick FC and Monaghan United shared the spoils following a 1-1 stalemate at Hogan Park tonight.
Midfielder Tommy Barrett opened the scoring for mid-table Lims, rising highest in the box to head home a Garreth Cooney cross after ten minutes.
But the visitors were back on level terms 14 minutes later when Robbie Smith's looping header came back off the bar and David Lee was on hand to nod home from close range.
Limerick striker Derek McCarthy had the best chance of the second half but his low eight-yard drive was brilliantly saved by Tadhg Murphy.
