Cork City have it all to do if they want to progress further in this season's Champions League after an own-goal from Dennis Behan gave Red Star Belgrade a 1-0 victory at Turners Cross.

Behan turned the ball into his own net on 36 minute after a Red Star corner to give the visitors a lead their play scarcely deserved.

The home side went agonizingly close to levelling minutes later when Dan Murray's angled header came back off the underside off the cross bar.

The second-half was a tame affair with Red Star happy to kill the game and take a 1-0 lead in the second leg.

Cork's best chance of the second half came on 58 minutes when Roy O'Donovan took a clever free-kick, lifting the ball over the backline for Behan to run onto. However Behan mis-kicked his volley to let Red Star off the hook.

City suffered a further setback with minutes to go when Murray was booked when his temper got the better of him and he pushed Red Star's Georgiev in the back after he prevented Cork from taking a quick throw-in.

The booking means that Murray will miss the second leg along with Joe Gamble and Dan Murphy who were both shown red cards in Cork's win over Apollon Limassol.
