Darren Mansaram claimed a late winner for the second time in five days as Sligo Rovers continued their excellent recent form with a 2-1 victory over Bray Wanderers.

The former Grimsby Town and Halifax Town striker notched an 87th minute winner at The Carlisle Grounds to follow his decisive score against Waterford United last Friday.

Having won five out of their previous six matches, Seán Connor's charges entered this encounter full of confidence and Adam Hughes gave the visitors a deserved lead after connecting with a Keith Foy cross on 58 minutes.

Rovers spurned several glorious chances to increase their lead with Matthew Judge, Mansaram, Hughes and Fahrudin Kudozovic all guilty of squandering decent openings.

And Rovers were left to rue those misses when Andrei Georgescu restored parity in the 82nd minute with a neat finish following excellent build-up play from substitute Kieran O'Brien.

However, Rovers hit back five minutes later to claim the victory their efforts deserved when the in-form Mansaram picked up a Foy throw, jinked his way past two defenders and calmly slotted home from 15 yards to ensure maximum points for the visitors.
