Fabio Capello looks set for his second spell at Real Madrid

Newly-elected Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is hoping to unveil Fabio Capello as coach of the Spanish giants by the end of the week.

Calderon pledged during his campaign to bring the Italian back to the Bernabeu this summer, with Capello having led the club to the Spanish title in the 1996-97 campaign.

Calderon then intends to follow up by bringing in a number of players, including Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas and Chelsea's Arjen Robben, as well as Brazil star Kaka from AC Milan.

'He (Capello) has gone to Turin to resolve his contractual situation with Juventus,' Calderon said.

'He will be here in the next few days to begin his new work.'

The hugely successful Capello has led Juventus to the last two Italian titles, but Juve are being tried in a sporting court in Rome following an investigation into match-fixing and could be relegated to Serie B.

'We don't have many days because the pre-season with all the players begins at the end of July,' Calderon said.

As for signing Fabregas, Robben and Kaka, Calderon said on Sunday evening there were no hitches in bringing the first two to Madrid but admitted: 'Milan will be more challenging.'

At his introductory press conference yesterday, Calderon said of the players: 'We have to be cautious, but I hope the three you know - Kaka, Cesc and Robben - will play here.'
