Despite not being at their best, Cork City moved three points clear at the top of the eircom Premier Division after a hard earned 1-0 victory against UCD at Turner's Cross.
The Champions totally dominated the first half, but despite plenty of possession, they failed to break down Pete Mahon's well organised side.
The only goal of the game came just after the hour. Neil Fenn fed Roy O'Donovan on the wing and his cross was meet by Cork substitute Denis Behan whose shot was deflected past student's goalkeeper Darren Quigley.
UCD came forward after the goal and might have equalised with ten minutes remaining. Derek Doyle shot inches wide of Michael Devine's goal.
But it is now eight wins for eight home league games for Damien Richardson's side in their quest to retain their Championship crown.
