Limerick FC Chairman Danny Drew has thanked the Limerick Desmond Football League for the use of their grounds in Clounreask, Askeaton last night.
Drew was speaking after watching the Blues claim another Premier Division scalp with a 2-0 Munster Senior Cup semi final win over Cork City in County Limerick.
A 67th minute penalty from John Lester complimented by a sublime 88th minute lob from Derek McCarthy saw the eircom First Division leaders dump the holders out of the competition.
Limerick, who could have used their Hogan Park ground for last night’s clash, but who opted to move the game to Clounreask to help promote eircom league soccer in Co Limerick, will now meet Cobh Ramblers in the 2006 final at a date and venue to be announced.
"On behalf of the club I would like to thank the Desmond League for the use of their excellent facilities and for their very generous hospitality during last night's game. The Desmond League really went out of their way to make us feel at home and that is greatly appreciated", said Drew.
"Our aim was to try and help promote eircom League soccer in County Limerick and also foster closer relations between the Desmond League and Limerick FC and the night was a great success", he added.
