Beenhakker relishing outsiders' role

Trinidad & Tobago coach Leo Beenhakker admits he is relishing the role of World Cup outsiders as the Caribbean side arrived in Germany for their World Cup campaign.

Trinidad & Tobago, with a population of one million, are the smallest country in terms of population ever to play in the World Cup.

Most expect them to be eliminated at the group stage after matches with Sweden, England and Paraguay but Beenhakker was bullish about T&T's chances.

He said: "We have no illusions about this tournament - we are the outsiders and we are celebrating playing against the world's best teams.

"But I think we have prepared well and are in good form."

Beenhakker's men were beaten 3-0 by the Czech Republic in Prague yesterday.
