Declan O'Brien scored a priceless winner to give Drogheda a 1-0 victory, having earlier missed a penalty as they heaped more pressure on Bohemians player-manager Gareth Farrelly.
In an incident packed encounter, O'Brien's 28 minute spot-kick was saved by Stephen O'Brien after the Drogheda captain was pulled down in the penalty area by Jason McGuinness.
But the Drogs skipper made amends soon after when he volleyed home a Keith Fahy free-kick from close range three minutes later.
Bohemians defender Aidan Collins headed over from six yards and Stephen Ward's header was saved by Dan Connor either side of half-time. Drogheda's James Keedy then fired against the post.
Bohs keeper O'Brien was sent off ten minutes from time for handling outside the box but the visitors almost levelled when a McGuinness header was cleared off the line by Damien Lynch.
