As they prepare to entertain UCD on Monday night, Dublin City’s striker David Freeman is happy with the club’s current form in the eircom League First Division.

Freeman said: 'We have a decent side and if we believe in our own ability we can climb further up the table. We know UCD are a decent side but we have plenty of talent in our own ranks and we're confident that we can do well.'

With Mark Rooney now back to fitness after his recent lay-off, Freeman is delighted to see  his former Drogheda team mate back in action.

'Mark's a quality player and he's got a big presence and a lot of pace. I can play off him and take advantage of the threat he poses. He's capable of scoring himself but he can also make a nuisance of himself and I can take advantage of those type of situations.'

For manager Dermot Keely it's an opportunity to add to the sole success, at home to Derry  back on 16 March, as Pete Mahon's Student visit Phibsboro for the first time this season.

'We know UCD have plenty of talented players and we know how difficult it'll be against them. But, we've shaken things up a little of late and I've got a positive response from my own lads and we'll be looking to carry on where we left off against Waterford in our last outing,' said Keely

Dublin City meet UCD shorn of the services of skipper Stuart Malcolm, Gavin McDonnell and Ger McCarthy.

Malcolm and McDonnell are both suspended while McCarthy has aggravated an ankle injury.
