Chelsea's Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba believes the title showdown against Manchester United is the game that all football fans have waited to see.
The Barclays Premiership champions require just one point from their clash with United at Stamford Bridge on April 29 to claim their second successive title.
Jose Mourinho's men restored their nine-point lead over United thanks to a win over 10-man Everton.
Drogba laid on the 28th-minute opener for Frank Lampard, who put Chelsea in control with a low drive from 20 yards.
The controversial striker, labelled a 'diver' and a 'cheat' in recent
weeks, scored the second with an unstoppable header from Lampard's corner in the 64th minute.
Midfielder Michael Essien completed the scoring with a rising drive to put Chelsea on the brink of back-to-back titles.
Drogba said: "It was difficult because we played a difficult game in Bolton on Saturday, and it is not easy for the body to recover.
"I am just happy because we won and now we need one point to be champions. The game against United is the big final and everybody has been waiting for this game."
Lampard chalked up his 20th goal of the season in all competitions with the opening goal - one better than his tally last season.
But the England midfielder is still not taking their second title triumph for granted. "It will be a tough game but we are not thinking we have won it yet, we need to perform on the day," he said.
"I am very pleased. I hoped to match my 19 goals from last season but to go one more and get 20 from midfield is an achievement I wanted.
"Everyone says the second season is harder and so for us to win the league would be a great achievement, let alone to do the double. But we have set our sights on that and will fight to get to the FA Cup final and fight to win the league."
