Stelios Giannakopoulos claims he is 'fully committed' to Bolton despite reports from Greece which quoted him as saying he 'would give everything' to join Liverpool.
The 31-year-old attacking midfielder was linked with a move to Anfield during the summer, before signing a new three-year deal with Wanderers.
Reports from his homeland yesterday quoted him as saying: "I would give everything to go to Liverpool. That's my dream. Not only to go to Liverpool but, in general, to go to a bigger team.
"That's my vision and I am working hard every week to make Liverpool or any big team chase my signature. I've become more stubborn since last season when I didn't go to Liverpool, although their official proposal gave me moral satisfaction."
However, Giannakopoulos told Bolton's official website, www.bwfc.co.uk, today: "I have aspirations of playing in Europe again with Bolton Wanderers and I am fully committed in helping them to qualify this season.
"I signed a three-year deal early in this season and I want to achieve great success with the club during that period."
Giannakopoulos is exactly the kind of creative attacker that Rafael Benitez is looking to add to his squad, however given his advancing years, the Liverpool board are unlikely to sanction a big money move for the player.
