Shelbourne comfortably beat Glentoran 3-0 at the Oval in the Setanta Sports Cup – their fourth win over the Glens in less than a year.
The eircom League giants were in control from the outset, and opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Jason Byrne beat Elliott Morris with a low 30-yard free-kick that took a slight deflection off the defensive wall.
In the 30th minute, Ollie Cahill made it 2-0 with an outstanding 30-yard drive that dipped just under the crossbar.
Shelbourne continued to dominate, and they made it 3-0 in the 68th minute when Byrne fired home after latching on to a Bobby Ryan pass.
