Cork City are through to the semi-finals of the Setanta Sports Cup after a 1-0 victory over Dungannon Swifts, but the eircom Premier League champions made hard work of it.

City started sluggishly and were lucky not to be behind early on, with Rodney McAree first forcing a fine save from Michael Devine and then hitting the post just before the break.

Damien Richardson's men attacked from the start of the second half and made the breakthrough on 49 minutes, when Dennis Behan found the back of the net from close range after John O'Flynn's cutback.

Dungannon fought back and were unlucky not to draw level on 61 minutes when Timmy Adamson's volley left Devine stranded in the Cork goal, but came back off the crossbar.

Adamson's effort roused the visitors and O'Flynn had chances to to double the Cork's lead, but in the end Behan's goal proved to be enough to ensure that City are the first team through to the semi-finals.
