The draw for the first round of the eircom League Cup was made at a meeting of the league's management committee last night.
The 24 clubs entered in the competition have been divided into four pools of six teams.
The four clubs involved in European competition have received byes due to their heavy fixture programme.
All pools will have two fixtures and two byes. After the first round, the four remaining teams in each pool will be drawn into two pairings in an open draw within that pool. The quarter-final and semi-final draws will be conducted on an open basis.
Matches will be played midweek in the week commencing Monday 3 April 2006.
