Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce is poised to sign a two-year rolling contract, it has been reported.
Pearce could secure the deal by the end of this week, according to the Manchester Evening News.
It is understood the package is worth £900,000 a year to the former England full-back. Pearce has had written confirmation of the contract for months but has never found the time to sign it.
Instead he has been content to have nothing more than a gentleman's agreement with chairman John Wardle.
That is apparently about to change as City go in search of a place in Europe.
Pearce took over as caretaker a year and a day ago when Kevin Keegan left. He did so well that he was offered a pay rise in June.
