Robbie Fowler insists Liverpool's players are united in wanting Rafael Benitez to remain at Anfield on a long-term basis.
Speculation over Benitez's future has clouded the build-up to the Champions League last-16 second leg against Benfica, while the manager insists he is 100% committed to the Anfield cause.
And Fowler - who is seeking goals to earn himself a new contract - is confident that Benitez will stick around.
The Reds striker said: "I have worked with Rafa for just over a month. I have loved working with him and I want that to continue for as long as I am here. I couldn't go into details over what has been happening, but he is Liverpool's manager and that's what we want.
"He has achieved so much already, winning the European Cup in his first season, and I hope he continues winning European Cups, leagues and FA Cups as Liverpool manager."
Benitez brought Fowler back to Anfield in January, after three seasons away from the club at Leeds and Manchester City, and handed him a six-month contract.
The 30-year-old appreciates his chances of staying beyond the summer will improve if he starts hitting the net.
"Everyone knows I want to stay here as long as I can and if I start scoring goals it will be obviously difficult for the manager and the people upstairs, (chief executive) Rick Parry and the chairman (David Moores), not to keep me here," said Fowler.
"If I score goals for Liverpool it will make it hard for them not to give me another contract.
Fowler also revealed how he wants to play in a Champions League final, after experiencing last season's triumph in Istanbul as a fan.
"As for the players' desire to keep hold of the trophy, I know that everyone in the dressing room has already won it once and it is something they want to win again. And me? what do you think?" he asked.
