Despite playing with ten men for over an hour, Cork City produced a superb footballing display to maintain their position at the top of Setanta Cup Group 1 following this comfortable 2-0 win over Dungannon Swifts at Turner's Cross.

The homeside were reduced to ten men when Roy O'Donovan was correctly shown a red card for striking Swifts' John Paul Gallagher after 28 minutes.

But Cork, who had started well, continued to play attacking football, and were rewarded when John O'Flynn struck home a fine 15-yard shot four minutes before the break.

City's second goal was even better, as midfield maestro George O'Callaghan curled a 25-yard shot high to the roof of David Wells' net, less than two minutes into the second half.

Cork goalkeeper Michael Devine denied Swifts a consolation goal, saving from substitute Tim Adamson with seven minutes remaining.
