Frank Lampard will undergo a scan today on the hamstring injury which has ruled him out of England's game against Uruguay.
The Chelsea midfielder is thought to have suffered the injury in last week's Champions League game against Barcelona.
He played on through that game because the Blues were already down to 10 men after Asier del Horno's red card and he had recovered enough to play 90 minutes and score against Portsmouth on Saturday.
But the hamstring problem was aggravated during an England training session yesterday and Lampard was advised to pull out of the international friendly against Uruguay at Anfield today.
He is doubtful for Saturday's game at West Brom but Chelsea will wait for the results of the scan before ruling him in or out of next week's trip to Barcelona.
