Bolton boss Sam Allardyce has admitted he would like to succeed Sven-Goran Eriksson as England manager.
Eriksson will stand down after this summer's World Cup finals and Allardyce is hoping the Football Association will consider him for the post.
The 51-year-old told the Sunday Express: "People say the England job is a poisoned chalice but at this stage of my career I feel I have done my apprenticeship.
"I would love the opportunity to be interviewed for the position."
