Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has signed a two-year contract extension to stay at Stamford Bridge until 2010.

The Czech Republic international's current deal was due to expire in the summer of 2008 but Cech has extended that contract by two years.

Reserve goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has also signed until 2009 despite being linked with a move away from the Blues to find first-team football.

Cech, 23, told the club's website: “I am very pleased. When I joined Chelsea I just wanted to get in the team and win some trophies. I managed that last season and have been rewarded with a new contract already. Now I want to win some more trophies.”

Cech broke the Premiership record for number of minutes without conceding last season as the Blues won the league title and Carling Cup.
