Kris Boyd grabbed a double to secure all three points for Rangers with a 3-1 victory against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Bank of Scotland Premier League this afternoon.
The brace allowed him to bring his tally to seven goals in four matches, while Marvin Andrews was also on the scoresheet for the Ibrox club.
Goals from Craig Dargo and Dennis Wyness kept the match alive for Inverness but the Scottish champions held on for the win, which allows them to leapfrog Hibernian into third place.
With 72 minutes gone, Inverness set up a tense finish to the game when they pulled a goal back through Wyness, who threw himself in front of a Barry Wilson ball into the box and sent a diving header past Waterreus.
The home side then claimed for a penalty when the ball appeared to the strike the arm of Ian Murray but the pleas were ignored by the referee.
Rangers could have put the game beyond their hosts when they were handed a free-kick on the edge of the area.
Lovenkrands fired straight into the hands of Brown - but the visitors managed to hold on for the three points regardless.
