Celtic's majority shareholder Dermot Desmond has increased his stake in the club to almost 41%.
The Irish multi-millionaire has taken advantage of the club's recent decision to issue more shares.
Desmond had owned 29.9% shares in the Bank of Scotland Premier League giants but despite his move, he is not believed to be considering a takeover bid.
Celtic announced a £15million share issue in October to invest in the club's football infra-structure and to strengthen its balance sheet.
Desmond put in £8million, but the remaining £7million came from other investors.
